What is a Landed Price?

Montreal Lighting & Hardware sells all its lighting, hardware and fixtures at the lowest Internet landed price. “Landed” refers to merchandise that has been shipped, received, brokered through customs and made available for sale and service in Canada.

It is the lowest price you will actually pay. In some cases, you may see a lower advertised price on a U.S. site, but that price is incomplete. As a consumer, you need to take into account that:

• “Free shipping” often excludes Canada, and it often refers to the “48 states”. You may be charged shipping fees.
• Lighting and fixtures are subject to taxes (GST and PST or HST) upon import. The carrier will usually demand you pay the taxes C.O.D. before receiving your merchandise.
• Lighting and fixtures are subject to import duties, which will also be C.O.D.
• Importing this merchandise incurs additional brokerage fees from carriers.
• Prices are in U.S. dollars. The price you pay will depend on the exchange rate and your credit card issuer’s profit percentage on the exchange rate.
• Returns and warranty requests must be shipped back to the U.S., at your expense. Consumers must pay expensive shipping fees to export the product back to the U.S., while waiting for the manufacturer’s or distributor’s response. You may also be charged duty again if and when a new or repaired item is sent back to you. You are also responsible for properly packaging your defective product, in order to return it.

A website link or advertised price from the competing vendor for the same product(s) shipped to the same address must be sent to Montreal Lighting & Hardware. Sales tax, shipping and handling, duties & import fees will be factored in to determine the final Canadian price. 110% Price Match Guarantee does not apply to clearance items.
